How to Use CEB OnLAW

A guide to searching CEB OnLAW, a database of over 150 CEB California practice guides

Search by topic or key word

Search by key word, topic, or phrase. Narrow by searching within your results or selecting a specific area of law or a specific CEB title. 

  1. Click Search at the upper left

  1. Enter search terms
  • A. All these words: Search terms as if they were connected by the Boolean operator AND
  • B. This exact phrase: Enter phrase. Quotation marks are not necessary
  • C. Any of these words: Enter synonyms to search terms as if they were connected by the OR operator
  • D. Available publications: Limit search to topic area or a specific title by using the dropdown arrow to the left of the topic. Multiple areas of law, titles, etc., may be searched at the same time

 

  1. Narrow results by entering additional search terms in the search bar or clicking "Search" icon to return to the Search page
  2. If you have not pre-selected a topic area or title from "Available Publications," you can link to all topic results where your search terms appear. The left-hand column displays the results appearing in each topic area. Click the arrow sign next to the topic to reveal the specific titles and sections in which results appear.
