How to Use CEB OnLAW

A guide to searching CEB OnLAW, a database of over 150 CEB California practice guides

Search by case name or citation

​OnLAW can be searched for references to a particular case

  1. Select Search at the upper left

 

  1. The search page defaults to Word Search. Select Case Search at the top.

 

  1. Enter the case name or citation in the Query terms box
  • When entering citations, follow the formats shown at the bottom of the page
  • Use the Available Publications column to search only within topics or specific titles 

 

  1. When a topic or title is not selected under "Available Publications," you can link to all topic results where the case is mentioned. The left-hand column will display the results appearing in each area of law, title, chapter, and section. Click the arrow sign to reveal the specific titles, chapters, or sections in which results appear.
