Our Librarians

Alyssa Thurston

Alyssa Thurston obtained her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and her M.L.I.S. from the University of Washington. She is also a member of the California State Bar. Alyssa previously worked at the Pepperdine University School of Law Library, where she was Research and Electronic Services Librarian and later Head of Reference Services.  

Refugio Acker-Ramirez

Refugio Acker-Ramirez comes to UC Davis from the law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where he served as a lead Research Specialist for the litigation and labor/employment practice groups. He obtained his MLIS from the University of California, Los Angeles and a BA in sociology and ethnic studies from the University of San Diego.

Kristin Brandt

Kristin Brandt is a member of the California bar and has a background as a litigator at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where she also served as head of attorney training and development. She graduated from UCLA School of Law and received her M.L.I.S. from San Jose State University. Previous to her current position, she worked at San Francisco Law Library.

David Holt

Mr. Holt graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law and received his M.L.I.S. from San Jose State University. Previously he has served as a branch librarian at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and as the Emerging Technologies law librarian at Santa Clara University School of Law.

His intellectual interests include LGBT legal issues, internet filtering, and legal bibliography.
