California Law Review Commission

  • Assists the Legislature and Governor by examining California law and recommending needed reforms Materials relating to Commission studies are searchable on the website.

Legislative Analyst Office 

  • Fiscal and policy advice to the Legislature, analyzing the budget and providing many useful reports on financing and programming in policy areas such as criminal justice, education, natural resources and environment, capital outlay and infrastructure, and health and human services. 

California Code of Regulations

California Code of Regulations (CCR)

  • The California Office of Administrative Law maintains links to State and Federal regulations and information about the Administrative Procedure Act. Administrative agencies adopt, amend and repeal regulations under the authority granted to them by either constitutional provisions or statutes. Unless the Legislature has created an exemption, agencies must follow the procedures in the Administrative Procedure Act when adopting, amending or repealing regulations. 
  • Proposed and underground regulations: provided for free by Westlaw.
  • Search California Agencies: search the over 200 agencies creating and implementing regulations, 

Other Regulations not in the CCR

  • California Building Standards Code provides information on the the adoption, approval, publication and implementation of California's building codes. This section of the law is unique because it includes standards adopted by state agencies from the national model code and codes authorized by the California Legislature. 
  • California Department of Social Services provides policies, procedures, and regulations for the agency.
